This paper raises the theme of the plurality of beings and the oneness of creators: Building civilization on differences. The approach or type of research used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, then the existing data is collected, reviewed and analyzed based on literature analysis, then the results are presented descriptively. The results or findings of this research are that in the construction of Islamic thought, there is a study called wahdah al-wudah, which is a deep philosophical construction about the reality of the oneness of Allah SWT which is the foundation for all the realities of the universe. This understanding necessitates several concepts including, plurality is basically unity and unity manifests itself in plurality. When it is relevant to the context of diversity that exists in Indonesia, this doctrine is very relevant, bearing in mind that in Indonesia there is diversity both in terms of differences in ethnicity, race, customs and even religion and ideology, which actually can be drawn a meeting point behind these differences, namely towards to one point, namely God Almighty.
