Class teacher is a subject teacher who is entrusted by the principal to manage a class and control students during the teaching and learning process and when students have problems both personal, social, and academic problems. The duties and functions of the class teacher in this case are to move, control the class, guide, motivate, direct, create conditions and a comfortable learning atmosphere so that the teaching and learning process runs optimally. In accordance with the thoughts above, it can be concluded that the role of the class teacher in managing problem solving is very important, because it helps the smoothness and effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. So as to deliver students to the talent of interest and a strong enthusiasm for more active learning. The purpose of this study was to identify the management of problem solving at SMAN 5 Tidore Kepulauan and to analyze the role of the class teacher in managing problem solving at SMAN 5 Tidore Kepulauan. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a type of explanatory research that is narrating and describing the facts found in the field findings by researchers. The results of the study show that the management of problem solving at SMAN 5 Tidore Kepulauan consists of several managements, including student discipline policies, problem solving management flows, rewards and punishments, coordination meetings, involvement of counseling guidance teachers, involvement of class administrators, involvement of internal and external parties. Meanwhile, the role of the class teacher in managing problem solving at SMAN 5 Tidore Kepulauan includes identifying problems, carrying out guidance and coaching, giving advice, providing motivation, conducting home visits, involving class administrators, creating What's App groups for students and parent of students, executors of mild scale sanctions, stimulus providers, and communicate with parties involved in student problems.
